The Human Body Clock

I was totally inspired by our conversation with Dr Stefan Schoeman our Health Matters expert Spectrum, Radio Pulpit this past Monday, looking at the body clock and how important it is to keep our body rythm stable.

So essentially this is what you and need to know, high-level but adequate:

1. Our body clocks are genetically inherited.

2. Our body clock is influenced by our hormones, so it is important to keep our hormonal bases in check and in balance if we are to maintain the body’s natural rythm.

3. Sleep is a key factor in regulating the body clock and is soley responsible for the juvination of our body’s internal function, which in turn determines the degree to which we maintain our natural clocks.

4. Body clocks can be manipulated, for variois reasons: intentional, stress and trauma or because of a lack of discipline.  The good news is that with discipline it is possible to train your body into a normal routine.

Let’s keep to our schedules during this lockdown and remember,  even when we forget our sluggish ways, our body clock doesn’t!

Let’s be safe #stayathome
